Coolio, Backstreet Boys Join Liz Claiborne To Fight Domestic Violence

Coolio is helping out designer Liz Claiborne to battle domestic violence.

The rapper has recorded a Public Service Announcement for a radio campaign called “Women’s Work,” developed by Claiborne that aims to reposition domestic violence as a men’s issue.

“When someone you know abuses his girlfriend or wife and you don’t say anything about it, what does that say about you as a man?” Coolio asks in the spot. “Be the one that finally stands up and says something, anything, but whatever you do don’t be silent,” he urges.

The Backstreet Boys and All 4 One have also taped spots which steer listeners to the domestic violence hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.

In addition, Liz Claiborne is also trying to raise money for the National Family Violence Prevention Fund. She¹s selling a limited edition $10 T-shirt and a $25 sterling silver toggle bracelet through a different toll free number, which is 1-800-449-STOP.
